Castrol's founder Charles Wakefield was always keen to show how Castrol products would perform when pushed to extremes and it's an ethos which still rings true today.
 
There aren't many lubricant manufacturers which can boast to having helped Barnes Wallace fly to CanadaThrust SSC breaks the sound barrier with Castrol in 1997 from the UK in an airship in the 1920s and before becoming a record breaker on water with Sir Donald Campbell some 30 years later.
 
It's also fitting that Castrol helped Jack Booth set a motorcycle land speed record in 1911 and that the same red, white and green colours are competing for honours in the current MotoGP championship with Honda.
